Mask Required At The Gym? Use Boost Oxygen To Stay Refreshed!
As many businesses slowly begin to re-open during the pandemic, gyms are requiring members wear facemasks. If you’re heading back to the gym and want to stay refreshed during your workout, Boost Oxygen can provide a “boost” of 95% pure oxygen during breaks between sets!
As gyms reopen, facemasks are required for the protection of everyone
Many gyms are requiring that members wear protective face masks during their entire workout. Some gyms are offering outdoor workout sessions, but the reality is that the majority of gyms simply don’t have the outdoor space or the ability to easily move bulky equipment in and out of their building on a daily basis.
As a result, members must wear masks during training sessions that often involve cardio and heavy breathing, which can be uncomfortable for some people who aren’t used to wearing masks while they work out. Facemasks are important and for the protection of everyone, but the fact is that wearing a mask is not a universal experience. Everyone feels different when they wear a mask - most people aren't bothered by it, while others find it difficult and have a hard time dealing with facemask fatigue.
Some masks are also better designed for activities like working out and training. But if you’re running or doing a workout that involves cardio, chances are it may take some time to adjust with a mask on.
Recently, Crossfit CEO Eric Roza joined CNBC’s "Squawk Alley" to discuss the re-opening of Crossfit gyms. When asked (in regard to proper oxygen levels) about his advice to customers who want a good aerobic workout but have to wear a mask, Roza replied: “It definitely makes things harder and takes some getting used to. We will have folks run outside of the gym and then they can decide if they want to wear a mask outside or not. But inside the gym, we require a mask. But I will say it does take some adjustment especially when you’re getting into the very high anaerobic ranges for sure.”
If you're working out at home, also consider your indoor air quality
Rather than returning to gyms, many people are choosing to work out at home as online personal training programs are easily accessible and equipment like Peloton and The Mirror gain popularity. Working out at home also allows many the ability to train freely without a mask.
However, keep in mind that indoor air quality can be much worse than outside. When most people think about air pollution, they envision factory smokestacks, smog over a city or exhaust from a traffic jam. But indoor air quality can actually be worse due to contaminants brought in by other people or pets, dust mites, spores, mold and mildew, dangerous gases like carbon monoxide and radon or volatile chemicals emitted from conventional cleaners and cooking. Indoor air quality tends to be worse in the winter months because there is often no flow of fresh air from the outside, meaning allergens stay trapped inside.
